MainstreamBIO’s 4th Project Meeting in Viborg
MainstreamBIO recently celebrated the successful completion of its fourth project meeting, held in the charming town of Viborg, Denmark, on the 18th and 19th of June. Hosted by Food & Bio Cluster Denmark (FBCD), the two-day event was a blend of productive discussions and insightful tours.
The first day of the meeting took place at the Asmildkloster Agricultural College. This location provided the perfect backdrop for our discussions on the progress of MainstreamBIO. The highlight of the day was an engaging tour of the college, expertly guided by our FBCD partners. This tour allowed participants to gain a deeper understanding of the local agricultural education and practices, setting a positive tone for the rest of the event.
The second day was hosted at the Agro Business Park. Researchers from Aarhus University provided an extensive tour of their cutting-edge facilities, showcasing their work in the production of biofuels and biogases. Participants were also introduced to the university’s bio-refinery operations, where innovative methods are used to isolate protein from plants and wheat. A invaluable hands-on experience, offering insights into the practical applications of bioeconomy research.
MainstreamBIO’s activities are progressing smoothly, with all tasks being implemented on time. Looking ahead, we are excited about the upcoming initiatives, including the launch of the 2nd round of MainstreamBIO’s open call starting in July 2024. Additionally, we are planning a series of co-creation workshops and mutual learning events this autumn, aimed at furthering our mission to promote sustainable bioeconomy practices.
