MainstreamBIO’s Scale-Up Workshops Completed | Driving Sustainable Bio-Based Innovation Across Regions
MainstreamBIO consortium has successfully completed a series of scale-up workshops, bringing together local governments, biomass producers, and multi-actor partnerships to stimulate the adoption of small-scale bio-based solutions.
These workshops, held across multiple European regions, served as a collaborative platform to identify challenges, share best practices, and co-create sustainable business model pathways tailored to regional potentials.
Throughout the sessions, participants emphasized the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange in overcoming regulatory, financial, and technical barriers. Discussions highlighted the need for stakeholder engagement, public advisory services, and innovative funding mechanisms to support bio-based initiatives. Additionally, regional differences underscored the importance of tailored business models, integrating circular economy principles and leveraging local strengths such as agrotourism, energy communities, and resource-efficient farming systems.
