MainstreamBIO and BIOMODEL4REGIONS Join Forces to Drive Sustainable Bioeconomy Innovation
We are excited to introduce you to the BIOMODEL4REGIONS project, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at establishing innovative governance models at the local and regional level to achieve sustainable development goals. The project leverages the expertise of bioeconomy clusters and best practices to develop governance structures that enable informed decision-making processes, social engagement, and innovation.
The main objective of the project is to support local economic and implementing authorities in improving the engagement of regional and local actors. This includes developing and updating business models that enable consumers, SMEs, producers, and authorities to switch to socially and environmentally responsible behavior. Additionally, BIOMODEL4REGIONS aims to integrate opportunities created by the local bio-based economy within broader bio-based economy transition.
By recruiting a group of three additional European regions to replicate the project actions and preparing a replication guide, BIOMODEL4REGIONS will contribute to the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI). The project will achieve better-informed decision-making processes, societal engagement, and innovation through a co-creation methodology that involves stakeholders such as primary producers, SMEs, civil society organizations, knowledge providers, and consumers.
To support efficient exchange of best practices and engagement of all actors, BIOMODEL4REGIONS will utilize various approaches such as multiactor knowledge networks for farmers, co-creation and multi actors stakeholder approach, best practice workshops, and social media.
BIOMODEL4REGIONS is a forward-thinking initiative that will not only benefit the six pilot regions but also contribute to sustainable development goals across Europe.
