MainstreamBIO nominated among the Best Research Programmes/Initiatives at the Better Farming Awards Event
The host Agri Insider held an Event “The Better Farming” at the Heritage Hotel, Killenard, Co. Laoise, on Thursday 30th of November 2023.
The Event aimed to honour the highest levels of the industry’s achievement in its transition to a more sustainable sector. Initiatives, research, and practices that support Irish agriculture in addressing its challenges in the areas of the economy, society, and environment are recognised with nominations and awards. The organisation looks beyond the headlines to acknowledge the true impact made by those who have excelled in varied agriculture fields. The panel of 13 judges, that consisted of Irish and International experts in the fields of farming, sustainability/ESG and agribusiness were participated in the selection of the best ones.
Martin Heydon, a Minister of State in the Department of Agriculture, was one of the special guests of the evening and also many well-known names in the Irish Ag industry participated in the Event.
The finalists were competed in 5 categories:
- In the Agrifood Business Awards Category, 7 finalists were awarded.
- Research Awards Category, 3 finalists were awarded.
- Farmers Awards Category, 5 finalists were awarded.
- Community Awards Category, 3 finalists were awarded.
- Headline Awards Category, 2 finalists were awarded.
MainstreamBIO’s project was nominated as one of four finalists in the category of best research programme/project that was based on improving Irish agriculture within the parameters of environmental, social and/or economic sustainability. We are pleased to announce that one of our MIP (IE) partners received a special award in the group community category, which is something they absolutely deserved.
