AUP Event Sparks Active Discussions on Small-Scale Bio-Based Innovations for Vegetable Production
The Agricultural University of Plovdiv (AUP) recently hosted a successful event focused on the latest trends in small-scale vegetable farming, attracting a diverse group of participants, predominantly farmers running small vegetable farms. The event highlighted the growing interest in the production of local varieties of vegetables such as peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers, with participants eager to explore the latest technological developments in greenhouse production, both domestically and globally.
A key feature of the event was the presentation of MainstreamBIO’s digital toolkit, which offers valuable resources for bio-based farming solutions. Two tools, in particular, stood out to the audience: the Catalogue of Small-Scaled Bio-Based Technologies and the Best Practices for Improved Nutrient Recycling. These resources sparked lively discussions on the potential applications of small-scale bio-based technologies in vegetable production.
One of the innovations presented during the event was the introduction of MINI-PEPPERS TYPE SNACKS by Opora Zaden. These mini-peppers, rich in vitamins and minerals, are considered a highly nutritious food, garnering significant interest from the attendees.
